Electronic banking services and their impact on increasing purchasing power. A survey of the opinions of a sample of commercial markets operating in Wadi Al-Shati, Libya

This study aimed to identify the impact of electronic banking services on purchasing power in the Wadi al-Shati region of Libya. The problem of the study lies in answering the following main question: (Have electronic banking services had a tangible positive impact in facilitating commercial transactions and increasing and revitalizing purchasing power in Wadi al-Shati, Libya, or have they faced obstacles that limited their effectiveness? The study population consists of a sample of commercial markets operating in Wadi al-Shati, Libya, due to the recent launch of these services by commercial banks operating in (food goods and commodities markets, fruit and vegetable markets, clothing markets and halls, medicine and pharmacies markets, auto spare parts markets, machinery and equipment markets, building materials, health and electrical materials markets). The descriptive analytical approach was used in line with the nature of the study. A questionnaire was then designed to measure the research hypotheses, consisting of 30 samples distributed across the study population from the commercial markets operating in the Wadi al-Shati region of Libya. A statistical analysis program was used to test the research hypotheses at a significant level. (0.05) The results were based on the fact that there are statistically significant differences between the responses of the study sample members regarding the existence of a relationship between electronic banking services and increased purchasing power, as well as increased economic activity in the commercial markets under study in the Wadi Al-Shati area.
