Abstract

The main objective of this study is to verify the effectiveness of a knowledge-based program for training mothers to improve the social skills of children with ADHD in Al-Khums city. To achieve the study objectives, a quasi-experimental approach with a single-group design was adopted. The pre-test was applied to a sample of mothers (n = 10), who then participated in the guidance and training program. This was followed by post-test and follow-up measurements to observe changes in their children’s social skills. Statistical analyses showed significant differences between pre-test, post-test, and follow-up measurements, with very high effect coefficients (Eta = 0.81–0.99). These findings demonstrate the strong practical effectiveness of the cognitive-behavioral program and the sustainability of its impact after implementation. The study recommends generalizing the program in educational and therapeutic institutions, raising awareness of the family’s role in addressing ADHD, and supporting psychological and social programs for mothers that develop attention, concentration, problem-solving, and behavioral management skills.
