Abstract

The strategies adopted by linguistic levels to analyze the language system vary along with the rules for its use.

Despite their diversity, they are closely linked to the success of the communication process between the speakers. For the rules of the language system contribute to the development of linguistic competence, as well as the rules of usage contribute to developing communicative competence; which plays a major role in the processes success of understanding and making others understand what the discourse between the addresser and the addressee refers to, which is the goal of the language user to reach the purposes of the discourse.

Based on this, language levels can be divided into the level of language system analysis (the normative aspect), which includes the levels (phonology, morphology, grammar, and semantics), and the performance level, which is concerned with studying the rules of discourse.

Separating the relationship between these two levels leads to the inability of the language user to use and master it, which is what the research seeks to draw attention to in teaching the Arabic language, i.e. the failure to separate the normative and descriptive levels.
